About Us

In the Beginning:

Moved by the story of Debbie Plowman's terrible accident KT Coates (Vertical Dance) mentioned to Nannette Cottle (Pole Position Fitness) in passing that we should do some thing big, some thing challenging that any one in the pole world could take part in, so KT mentioned Climbing Kilimanjaro,  not too much more was said about it until Pole Unity, where KT got carried away and decided to announce it to 600 people, which meant there was no going back.

KT received an email from Kate Whitley (Dance Inspires) who took control and got the ball rolling, she also suggested that setting up The Pole Sports Benevolent Fund endorsed by the International Pole Sports Federation would be the best idea for supporting Debbie. Kate is now the director of the charity and in control of behind the scenes of the Kilimanjaro climb, while KT is in charge of website, publicity and getting people on board.

Every one is giving their time and effort for free, so if you could spare any time to help it would be greatly appreciated!

The Growing Years:

Its a complicated process that take time setting up a charity (up to 6 months) so we currently have a benevolent fund bank account with NatWest, our Just Giving and PayPal sites will be up and running in the next few weeks for donations and as soon as we have the charity number it will be posted on the site, so please bare with us until we get on our feet.

Where we're going:

This website was set up specifically to publicise the Kilimanjaro trip but we hope that charity treks will become a regular event for us all, so keep your eye on the site.
